DIY Ikea Hexagon Mirrors

Adam and I scored some awesome hexagon-shaped Honefoss mirrors at Ikea last month.  We took advantage of the snowy day to get some tasks accomplished in the house - one of which was hanging these beauties.

At just over a dollar a piece, these mirrors come in a pewter and bronze finish.  We were attracted to them because of their ability to be assembled in a large or small installation.  Modular design is a must for people who move often and must constantly make their objects conform to new spaces.

The mirrors work perfectly over our 1950's American of Martinsville Credenza and were a sinch to install with the assistance of the iPhone Level app.

UPDATE

Alright.  I may have said some things in January that didn't pan out to be all that accurate in September.

My original thought was that these mirrors were great for renters who moved frequently because they were able to be reconfigured in different spaces.

It turns out, however, that they most definitely do not come off the wall easily.  We tryed heating them, prying them, tapping them, smacking them, and scraping them.

We did manage to get one off - with a large chunk of plaster attached.

In the end, we left them.  I take back my previous words.

New words: These mirrors are great for people who plan to stay in one place.  Forever.
